Law firms · Pay per click advertising

Understand why paid search is more limited here than in most industries.

Pay per click advertising for a law firm is heavily constrained by the Bar Council of India's restrictions on legal advertising. Most firms rely on informative content, directories and referral relationships instead. GullySales helps you understand what is realistic and where budget is better spent.

What pay per click advertising means

Pay per click advertising (PPC) is paying a fee each time someone clicks your advert on Google or another platform. It puts you at the top of a search page immediately, instead of waiting for ranking to build. GullySales sets the targeting, writes the ad text and checks spend daily against enquiries received.

For law firms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • Direct solicitation through ads is not permitted for lawyers in India

Unlike most professions, a law firm cannot run a typical promotional search ad campaign under the profession's own rules.

  • Budget is better spent on content and directory visibility

Where advertising is restricted, the equivalent spend on well-written practice area content and directory listings does the same job compliantly.

  • Corporate legal services sit in a different position

A firm's website presenting factual information about its expertise, rather than soliciting specific clients, is generally treated differently.

What we do

What we deliver for law firms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. An advertising-restriction assessment for your firm

A written review of what is and is not realistic in paid search advertising for your practice areas, under Bar Council rules.

Result: You know exactly where the line sits before spending anything.

  2. A budget reallocation plan towards content and directories

A plan moving planned advertising spend towards practice area content and directory listings instead.

Result: The equivalent budget does compliant work instead of an unusable campaign.

  3. A factual corporate information page

A page presenting the firm's corporate expertise factually, positioned to sit within what is permitted for informational content.

Result: A business client finds relevant expertise stated plainly and safely.

  4. A directory spend comparison

A comparison of what directory listing options are available and which fit your practice areas and budget.

Result: You choose directory spend based on fit, not guesswork.

  5. An ongoing check against updated guidance

A periodic check of any updated Bar Council guidance that could affect what content or listings remain appropriate.

Result: Your visibility work stays within current professional guidance.

How the result is measured

  • Cost per click
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries from paid search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

  • Corporate and M&A law firms
  • Family law practices

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. 06 · At the end of the term

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for law firms

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at how your website is organised by practice area, how fast consultation requests are followed up, and how your referral relationships are tracked.

  2. 2

    Fix the follow-up

A consultation request routine that replies quickly, staying within the profession's rules on client communication.

  3. 3

    Build informative content

Practice area pages that explain the process and the firm's experience, written to inform rather than solicit.

  4. 4

    Build visibility

Legal directory listings, referral relationships with chartered accountants and other professionals, and published articles.

  5. 5

    Convert and retain

A clear consultation-to-retainer process, a steady client communication cadence, and a referral ask from satisfied clients.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we run paid search for the practice?
Treat it as out of bounds. The Bar Council restricts advertising and solicitation, and bidding on somebody searching for a lawyer is solicitation on its face. Have your own partners confirm where the current rules sit before anything goes live.
What should replace ad spend for this profession?
Content, directory listings and referral relationships usually deliver more for a law firm than paid search would.
Can a law firm advertise in India?
Only within narrow limits. The Bar Council of India restricts advertising and solicitation, so we build visibility through informative content, directories and referral relationships instead.
Can we show case wins or client names on our website?
No. Publishing results or testimonials reads as soliciting work, which the Bar Council rules forbid. A website may state your name, contact details, enrolment and areas of practice, and plain explainer articles can sit alongside that.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the monthly review.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
